Description
The best-preserved Assyrian siege ramp in the world — a stone-and-earth ramp against Lachish's southwest corner, built by Sennacherib's army in 701 BCE.
Biblical significance
Physical remains of the very siege depicted in the Lachish Reliefs and described in 2 Kings 18:13-14; the counter-ramp built by Judahite defenders is also visible.
